Information on Palisades Fire

The City of Santa Monica has issued an EVACUATION WARNING for all areas north of San Vicente Boulevard and west of 26th Street. Residents may voluntarily return to this area but remain prepared with gathered essentials and be ready to leave the area if conditions worsen. Those who require additional time to evacuate and those with pets should leave now, and an emergency order has been instituted including a curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in this area.

EVACUATION LIFTED north of Montana Avenue, and evacuated residents may return. This area was previously under Evacuation Warning, and there are no active fire threats to this area.

Residents and visitors are asked to avoid non-essential travel in northern portions of the city to facilitate evacuations and assist first responders. To aid residents evacuating the area, Big Blue Bus has suspended fare collection for all riders until further notice and Uber is providing two free rides up to $40 for evacuated residents to active shelters using code “WILDFIRE25”. High winds are anticipated to continue at least through 12 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15. Before traveling to our destination, please check freeway closures to ensure access as many roads are closed. The safety and well-being of residents and visitors remain our top priority and we encourage everyone in the affected areas to stay informed and follow guidance from local authorities. Evacuation maps from Cal Fire can be viewed here and a comprehensive look at the impact to the City can be found here.
