Santa Monica’s LGBTQ+ Scene

Not only is Santa Monica home to some of the country’s most beloved beaches, it’s also one of Los Angeles’ most inclusive and fun-loving communities. SaMo PRIDE kicks off in June 2025 with a PRIDE Festival that will turn the entire downtown district, from Third Street Promenade through Santa Monica Place to the Santa Monica Pier, into a party zone!

Will Rogers State Beach

Will Rogers State Beach, Los Angeles’ unofficial LGBTQ+ beach, is a great place to mingle. This popular surf spot offers amenities like volleyball courts, restrooms and gymnastics equipment. The Marvin Braude Bike Trail, also known as the South Bay Bicycle Trail or the Strand, runs through here.

This beach is part of Will Rogers State Historic Park, home to popular hiking trails: the two-mile loop to Inspiration Point and the Backbone Trail, which heads right into the Santa Monica Mountains.
