Five Santa Monica Hotels Awarded Michelin Keys

MICHELIN Keys list expands to United States, recognizes five Santa Monica hotel properties

Santa Monica, Calif. (April 25, 2024) – Santa Monica Travel & Tourism (SMTT) is pleased to announce Santa Monica properties Hotel Casa del Mar, Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows, Santa Monica Proper Hotel, Shutters on the Beach and The Georgian Hotel were awarded One MICHELIN Key in the first iteration of the MICHELIN Key selection in the United States.

The MICHELIN Keys represent hotels offering outstanding architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, personality and character, value for the price and significant contribution to the guest experience. According to MICHELIN, One Key indicates “a true gem” of a stay providing excellent service and unique character. Of the over 1,000 US hotels recommended in the MICHELIN Guide, only 124 properties received recognition in this carefully curated list.

These accolades come as the latest in a series of achievements for Santa Monica hotels. The Georgian Hotel continues its well-deserved string of wins following inclusion of the property in Condé Nast Traveler’s Best New Hotels in the World: 2024 Hot List selection and Travel + Leisure’s 100 Best New Hotels of 2024 list, highlighting The Georgian’s recent renovation and reopening. Santa Monica’s Shore Hotel was also recognized for its exceptional guest experience and reviews in the Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best 2024 list as the #1 United States hotel. Tripadvisor highlights Shore Hotel’s eco-friendly design as a LEED Green Certified property focusing on sustainability by using recyclable and biodegradable materials, prioritizing organic locally-grown ingredients in their culinary program and giving back to the community.
