Neighborhood Resource Officers

The Neighborhood Resource Officer (NRO) program operates to address community livability issues by quickly identifying community issues, concerns, problems and crime and coordinate resources to help solve these problems. The city is divided into four distinct patrol areas with Resource Officers assigned to each.

Homelessness Resources

In 2019, The City of Santa Monica created the DEEPeR strategy, which provides a set of tools to empower community members to have safer, more effective interactions with people experiencing homelessness. Watch the city’s series of videos to learn more.

Read more about all the City of Santa Monica is doing to address homelessness in this article written by Santa Monica’s City Manager, David White, in January 2024.

The Therapeutic Transportation Team (TTT) operates only in Santa Monica Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This team currently co-responds with our police and fire departments on non-emergency mental health calls and can respond to both unhoused and housed individuals in Santa Monica. Please find a printable card of when the TTT can perform a consultation and when they can transport patients to a psychiatric urgent care center here, as well as a document describing their efforts and goals here.
