1 Pico at Shutters on the Beach Hotel
For a celebratory brunch or dinner with sweeping coastal views, 1 Pico offers a three-course menu for guests to savor all day. There’s a brunch menu available 10am to 4pm and a dinner menu available 4pm to 10pm. Starters include asparagus green garlic soup, heirloom baby beets, burrata tomato salad and drilled prawn salad; entrees include halibut, beef, homemade spaghetti and grilled spatchock; dessert is chocolate coffee ganache, raspberries mimosa tart or bing cherry compote. Cost: $110 per person.
Treat the mother in your life to a coastal buffet brunch on Sunday, May 12, from 11am – 3pm at Cast Restaurant, located in the iconic Viceroy Santa Monica. Priced at $65 for adults and $28 for children 5 – 12 (children under 5 are complimentary), the impressive spread will include wild crab cake Benedict with chorizo-tomato jam and harissa hollandaise, braised beef short rib with chimichurri and roasted garlic crema, and orange mascarpone stuffed french toast with blood orange macerated berries and Chantilly cream. The buffet will also feature a breakfast taco station, an omelet station, as well as assorted salads and delectable desserts.
Catch Restaurant & Sushi Bar and Terrazza
Enjoy Mother’s Day Brunch and Dinner at Catch Restaurant & Sushi Bar or Terrazza where there’s a prix-fixe menu of land and sea favorites starting with an amuse-bouche. Starters include homemade burrata and heirloom tomato salad, seared blue fin tuna, king crab avocado and more; mains include grass-fed beef tenderloin, jidori chicken, grilled whole pink snapper, housemade pappardelle and more; and a delightful array of sweets around out the dessert bar. Catch and Terrazza will also be offering a children’s menu until 4 pm that includes favorites like buttermilk chicken fingers with French fries, fish sticks and margherita pizza. Cost: $115 per person ($45 per child).

Mothers will get their groove on poolside during Hotel Shangri-La’s Mother’s Day Brunch (12-3pm) with live musical entertainment from Latin jazz band, Soul Sauce. The buffet includes a carving station of Leg of Lamb and Salmon Wellington, a made-to-order egg station, a cold station of gazbacho, avocado toast, homemade granola and strawberry parfaits, Caesar salad and fresh fruit, and a hot buffet with Mom’s favorites, Bananas Foster French toast, lobster ravioli and pork belly with sweet ginger sauce and basmati rice. A crepe station rounds out the menu for dessert, along with a selection of assorted pastries. $85/adult and $40/children under 12, plus taxes and gratuities. Moms receive a rose, and all adults receive a complimentary glass of Champagne upon arrival.
