SANTA MONICA’S FOURTH ANNUAL VOLLEY-WEEN FUNDRAISER RETURNS OCTOBER 29

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (October 8, 2025) – Santa MoniCARES, Tourism Supporting Our Community returns on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 with the fourth annual Volley-Ween Beach BBQ Mixer, rallying support for local Santa Monica nonprofits.

This year’s event will again include a beach volleyball tournament and costume contest welcoming local businesses and residents to participate on the court or cheer from the sidelines. The festivities will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Perry’s Café and Beach Rentals.

Sinjin Smith, Olympian (1996), two-time World Champion, International Volleyball Hall of Fame inductee (2003), 1994 Goodwill Games bronze medalist, and holder of 139 career victories, along with his son Hagen Smith, who placed first at both the Association of Volleyball Professionals and the International Volleyball Federation in 2023, will be in attendance at the event.

“Each year, we eagerly anticipate the Volley-Ween fundraiser as a way to unite our community and support local nonprofits in need,” said Misti Kerns, President/CEO of Santa Monica Travel & Tourism. “Whether you’re a competitive player or cheering from the sidelines, we invite Santa Monica residents and businesses to take part in this entertaining event for a meaningful cause.”

Teams of two, four and six at all skill levels are invited to compete in a beach volleyball tournament on the very Santa Monica sands where the sport was popularized.

In addition to the tournament and costume contest prizes, attendees can look forward to entertainment, food and drinks, games and more at this beloved community event. Registration is required to attend the event and participate in the tournament with an entry fee of $35 per person.
