WASTED! THE STORY OF FOOD WASTE, 2017, Super Ltd., 90 min. Dirs. Anna Chai, Nari Kye. Though 800 million people around the globe are starving, one-third of the food grown annually for human consumption is never eaten – for one reason or another, it ends up in the garbage. WASTED! THE STORY OF FOOD WASTE illustrates how each of us can make small changes – all of them delicious – to solve one of the greatest problems of the 21st century. As such influential chefs as Anthony Bourdain, Dan Barber, Mario Batali, Massimo Bottura and Danny Bowien transform what most people consider scraps into incredible dishes, this new documentary shows how any action – no matter how small – can lead to new ways of using more food, feeding more people, curbing environmental damage, stimulating technology and business, and ultimately improving the health of everyone.
