Over the past few years, there’s been a “rediscovery” and resurgence of wine from the country of Georgia. It’s one of the oldest winemaking regions on the planet, dating back to about 6000 BC when Georgians were cultivating grapes and fermenting them in clay vessels. Given decades (centuries, really!) of political turmoil in the Caucasus region, its been difficult for those outside of the country to get their hands on Georgian wine. With Georgia’s 2016 Association Agreement with the European Union, this has helped expand exports of their wine. Our tastings are casual, so drop by anytime within the three-hour window, and our staff will walk you through different grape varieties of Georgian wine at your own pace for $25/person. We also offer 10% off retail for all the bottles in the line-up. As the Georgians say, gaumarjos!
