Screening of the documentary “Town Destroyer”
Join us for a screening of the new documentary “Town Destroyer,” which explores the ways we look at art and history at a time of racial reckoning. An exploration of the controversy around a set of historic murals at George Washington High School in San Francisco, the film touches on many shared concerns of communities across the country. Stay for a discussion facilitated by Meztli Projects that will relate the film’s themes to the City’s current City Hall Mural project. Runtime: 53 minutes. Produced and Directed by Alan Snitow and Deborah Kaufman. This event is presented as part of the Reframe: City Hall Mural series by the Santa Monica Public Library in partnership with Santa Monica Cultural Affairs and Meztli Projects.
