The Santa Monica Symphony shares the spotlight of its 74th season premiere concert with award winning young violinist and YouTube sensation Roman Kim. Born in Kazakhstan and trained in Russia, Kim names both Paganini and Jimi Hendrix as major influences. The October concert marks the American premiere of Kim’s Violin Concerto No. 1 and Variations on “Brindisi” from La Traviata. The concert opens with Bernstein’s exuberant Overture to Candide and concludes with Tchaikovsky’s beloved Symphony No. 4. The evening includes a pre-concert lecture by musician and composer Russell Steinberg. All Santa Monica Symphony concerts are FREE and ticketless.
