Un Mundo Nuevo en Pico
Six artist and stories of immigrant resiliency
Pico Improvement Org has renovated the vacant Nancy’s Nails storefront at 2917 Pico Boulevard into a fabulous art gallery featuring local artists and artisans! With the smashing success of the first Pico Pop Up at 2802 Pico last summer, which is now rented and will soon be an art studio, the PIO is transforming another vacant storefront space into a Pico Pop Up art gallery. We celebrate the vibrant neighborhood and incredible merchants along Pico Blvd, with its colorful murals, restaurants, coffee houses, pet spas, bars, fitness studios and so much more. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the warm hospitality, creativity and tenacity of our businesses while adhering strictly to safety precautions is inspirational!
With an opening reception for the exhibition called Un Mundo Nuevo en Pico on June 4th from 430p-730p, visitors will be safely welcomed to the new Pico Pop Up, to enjoy incredible photography and paintings from Linda Vallejo, Nicola Goode, Market Exchange, Anne Carmack, Rosa Maria Lares and Jeff Gros. Find a press release here. Going forward, visitors will also be able to pick up free Pico Mural Maps, enter merchant promotions and learn about sales, and more.
