Other Histories of Santa Monica – Talk and Discussion

Explore the communities and locales of Santa Monica through personal stories. This City Hall Mural project event focuses on some of the histories of “Santa Monica and the Bay District” not depicted in the WPA-era mural in the lobby of Santa Monica City Hall. Combining talk and discussion will delve into decolonial approaches to recording history and transmitting stories of place, belonging and connectedness. Attendees are invited to walk through the newly reopened Santa Monica History Museum galleries after. Presented as part of the Reframe: City Hall Mural project series by Santa Monica Cultural Affairs and Meztli Projects.
