The Santa Monica High School Orchestra Program, led by Joni Swenson and Jason Aiello, is pleased to announce the premiere screening of Rick Springfield’s new documentary, “Orchestrating My Life” — an exploration of Rick’s life in music and a personal glimpse into his creative process as he works with orchestras to re-define career hits like “Jessie’s Girl,” “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” “Love Somebody,” “Human Touch” and other classics in a new rock-meets-orchestra recording. The event will take place at the historic Barnum Hall on the Santa Monica High School campus on Saturday, January 25th at 7:30 pm. The evening includes a LIVE PERFORMANCE by Rick himself with the Santa Monica High School Chamber Orchestra and Choir soloists! In the Spring of 2019, Santa Monica High School Symphony Orchestra students were pleased to perform with Springfield in celebration of the release of his symphonic album, also titled “Orchestrating My Life.” “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to perform with Rick again,” said Samohi Symphony Orchestra Director Joni Swenson. “We are also deeply appreciative of his support for the arts in our schools.” All proceeds from the evening will benefit Santa Monica High School Orchestras.
