Under the baton of Music Director Roger Kalia, Orchestra Santa Monica opens its new season with a performance of new music and classic masterpieces.
The program begins with the exuberant fanfare “lubilo” by contemporary composer Brian Nabors. Internationally-acclaimed pianist Vijay Venkatesh will join the orchestra to perform Beethoven’s 5th Piano Concerto (“Emperor”).
Schumann’s majestic 3rd Symphony (“Rhenish”), inspired by his love of the Rhineland, concludes the program.
