My, Myself and I at The Santa Monica Playhouse

Three teenagers – the over-achiever, the goody-goody, the drop-out. They weren’t always like this, and the voices inside their head are going to prove it! What happens to us as we reach adolescence – what steals away our innocence, our wide-eyed wonder at the world around us? What makes a happy child into a bully, a liar, a control freak? And will those labels follow us into adulthood, hounding us for the rest of our lives? Or is there a way to re-discover our better selves?
ME, MYSELF and I is created through a collaboration between Santa Monica Playhouse professional theatre artists and members of the Youth Theatre Conservatory in a two-week ShortBurst® play-building process that combines study in performance skills, voice, movement, writing and imaginative play.
