In the Pink - Autumn in a California Garden

This event has expired. Please visit the Events Calendar for current listings.

As part of the Garden Conservancy Open Days Program’s Digging Deeper series: In the Pink—Autumn in a California Garden. Joseph Marek and his partner, John Bernatz, have been gardening this spot in Santa Monica for twenty years and have explored many different design and planting ideas and schemes over that time. Joseph is a landscape architect and has been a plant lover his whole life. His particular passion is for roses and rose hybridizing. While the garden has been a favorite since its first appearance on Open Days in 2003 and is great to visit in spring when the roses are in full bloom, the garden is rarely seen by visitors in fall—often the most beautiful time to see California gardens. Marek and Bernatz will give a tour through the gardens and share their thoughts on how it has changed and matured over the years. Light refreshments included. $40 Garden Conservancy members, $50 nonmembers. For More Information: See www.opendaysprogram.org or call The Garden Conservancy toll-free weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST, 1-888-842-2442.
