“I cannot recommend this play enough. This show is a singular story written in a way that underlines a universal truth. Howard Ho tells a tale that sheds light on racial issues that permeate our entire culture.” (Adam Lim) The Second Annual BFF Binge Free Festival of Theatre presents one night only of playwright and composer Howard Ho’s Various Emporia, a 2017 O’Neill National Playwrights Finalist. Ho was a 2016 Center Theatre Group Literary Fellow and a 2013 NY State Summer Writers Institute Scholarship recipient. He is a Finalist in the East West Players Musical Theatre Initiative. His full-length musical Pretendo has been developed at Company of Angels, USC, and East West Players. He has been a writer in the Vagrancy Playwrights’ Group, Company of Angels, and Playground-LA. He is a member of Cold Tofu Improv, Playwrights’ Arena, the Asian Pacific American Friends of the Theater, and the Dramatist Guild. He makes Youtube videos at youtube.com/howardhomusic, including his How Hamilton Works series.
