The Santa Monica History Museum is excited to invite children and their families to our FREE Hands on History workshop. The theme of this workshop will be the Douglas Aircraft Company.
Founded in Santa Monica in 1921 by Donald Douglas the company grew to be one of the largest in the country at its peak. Planes built by the Douglas Aircraft Company were the first to circumnavigate the globe when they left from and returned to Santa Monica’s Clover Field in 1924. Join us on Saturday, June 18th to learn more about the history of this important player in Santa Monica’s industrial past. After a lesson in the galleries, attendees will get to try their hand at making their own airplanes in the spirit of aviation pioneer Donald Douglas.
To RSVP, contact Kathryn Evans at kevans@santamonicahistory.org
