The weather is finally starting to warm up and the tent is off the patio, so there’s no better way for Esters Wine Shop & Bar to celebrate than with a whole lineup of talented chefs for the next Guest Chef Burger Night Series. Every month since September 2017, “the little kitchen that could” has welcomed a slew of celebrated, local talent to make their favorite burger for just one night. The summer iteration is the last of 2019 as the popular series takes a little break for the fall and winter holidays, but it will kick off again in Winter 2020.
Guest Chef Burger Nights begin at 6:00 p.m., until burgers sell out, so grab a seat early during 4-6 p.m. Happy Hour. All burgers come with a side and are priced at $18, with an optional beer or wine pairing. Esters is walk-in only, so reservations are not taken.
While chef Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections is famous for her toffees, chocolates, petits fours, cakes and more at her flagship Historic Filipinotown shop, she also showcases her savory prowess at her Echo Park bakery & café. Over the past couple of years, she’s been exploring new frontiers with grilled desserts and BBQ. In honor of the late Anthony Bourdain’s Birthday (which his friends have declared “Bourdain Day”), Valerie is making his favorite kind of burger – double-double animal-style – paired with a signature cocktail. Additionally, she’ll have slices available of her legendary Blum’s Coffee Crunch Cake.
