Free Screening! FIVE CAME BACK, 2017, Netflix, 180 min. Dir. Laurent Bouzereau. Hollywood did its part during WWII as performers entertained troops and filmmakers covered the war. This unforgettable documentary profiles five of the latter – Frank Capra, John Ford, John Huston, George Stevens and William Wyler – who were profoundly changed by their wartime experiences. Interviews with contemporary directors including Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola and Guillermo del Toro add perspective to the lives and work of the “five who came back.” Discussion following with director Laurent Bouzereau.
