BG Gallery, in collaboration with the Venice Institute of Contemporary Art, present “Floating Worlds” a survey of new contemporary art from Japan, alongside American artists who’s roots or work speaks to our theme.
We pay homage to the Japanese concept of “Floating Worlds” with our latest exhibition to refer to the major changes happening in the world we live in- the fleeting, the floating nature of life – and the way artists depict this challenge. Whether sublime or active, contemplative or extroverted, real or imagined, this exhibition speaks to our times directly.
Japanese artists in the show – rarely seen in the US – are Yoko Umemoto, Motoko Oyamada, Sugimuru, Akira Nakamura, Kumiko Suzuki, and MIchiko. American artists are Sam Francis, Gloriane Harris, Peter Alexander, Robert Nelson, Juri Koll, MB Boissonnault, and more!
Reception is Saturday, November 16th, from 6-9:30pm.
Exhibit shows from November 12- November 16th.
bG gallery is open from Tues. to Sat. from 11:30 AM – 6:00 PM at Bergamot Station, across from the Bergamot Cafe.
