Heal the Bay’s Angler Outreach Program has launched an interactive, bilingual educational opportunity at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. Free with Aquarium admission, all are invited to partake in this program from 2pm – 4pm on alternating Fridays through March.
You will go fishing (no actual fish will be used in this activity!) and in the process, learn to identify local species – discovering which are good to eat and which species are contaminated.
Led by Frankie Orrala, Heal the Bay’s Angler Outreach Program Manager, this educational experience is designed for all ages. Everyone will have a chance to learn more about fish contamination, fish consumption, and cooking methods for those who fish from Los Angeles County piers.
Free fish tip cards, recipes, and stickers will be available as well. This program is a great start for anyone interested in fishing Santa Monica Bay, or for those who simply want to learn more about the local marine life and science.
Know your fish!

*Admission: $5.00
