Catching Sight of Thelma & Louise is a documentary film that takes an intimate look into how Callie Khouri and Ridley Scott’s iconic 1991 story challenged preconceptions of feminism, framing it in the context of two average women in extraordinary circumstances, and its persistence as a cultural touchstone 25 years on. Documentary film director Jennifer Townsend weaves a powerful and honest portrait of both how far we’ve come, and how far we haven’t. Through interviews with movie fans and critics, as well as the editor and key actors from Thelma & Louise, we are taken through emotions that are raw, humorous, introspective, and inspiring, mirroring the journey of the original heroines.
CATE – Cinema at the Edge film festival hosts the world premiere of Catching Sight of Thelma & Louise on Sunday April 30, 2017, 12pm at Edgemar Center for the Arts in Santa Monica. Join us for the film premiere followed by a Q&A with director Jennifer Townsend.
