BroadStage’s signature series of blues rhythms returns to light up the night. Dance, drink, and dare to be a regular at their Friday night series on the plaza and in The Edye. Curated by The Reverend Shawn Amos.
American songwriter, blues singer, author, and record producer The Reverend Shawn Amos returns to perform this season with his one-of-a-kind harmonica driven, blues roots revival. The Rev’s performances are always energetic, and no two shows are the same. Experience exactly why Glide Magazine refers to him as “…by turns furious, vulnerable, crazy, forlorn and tender; all buoyed by a family approach…infectious in a good way..”
Shawn Amos spent the early years of his career as a record producer, and in 2013 he became known as The Reverend, a name under which he has released studio, live, single, and extended-play titles. In 2022, he released the NAACP Image Award-winning semi-autobiographical debut novel, Cookies and Milk, which documents his upbringing in 1970s Hollywood as the son of cookie entrepreneur Wally “Famous” Amos.
