Studio 106LA and Dasha Dasic are pleased to present, for the first time, a long anticipated show in the USA of an international, one of a kind, multimedia and conceptual artist, graphic and applied art designer DIMITRIS KOROVESIS featuring his HAPPY SCULPTURES. Born in the vicinity of Ancient Olympia, Korovesis received his first ‘art lessons’ near the ancient ruins. He studied graphic design in Doxadis Athens Technological School and continued his education in Rome’s School of Fine Art. Dimitris, a lover of the unimportant, is a dedicated seeker of unexpected joy and cohabiting with so many different selves.
‘Happy Sculptures’ features around 40 unique handcrafter sculptures, shipped to the shores of the Pacific Ocean from the Aegean Sea. Through a method of mixed technique, using iron and acrylic colors, each piece tells us its own story.
There is one thing we know for certain, all the pieces reveal Dimitris’ lively, joyful and above all respectful-traditional Greek character.
