3rd Annual Seasons of Celebration

Commemorating seven years of providing birthday parties to homeless and foster youth, Cause for Celebration hosts Seasons of Celebrations, a fundraiser where guests have the opportunity to explore the gallery’s current art exhibit, dance to the live band Westside 6, laugh to comedian host Yassir Lester, watch live painter Ronnie Robles, enjoy beer & wine, appetizers, dessert, and bid during the live and silent auction. Seasons of Celebrations takes place on Saturday, November 3, 7:30 p.m. at Lois Lambert Gallery at Bergamot in Santa Monica.
In partnership with shelters in Southern California, Culver City-based Cause for Celebration provides birthday parties for homeless and foster youth. Birthdays are a special time of year. Yet for so many children the day passes like all the others, without any acknowledgment. We believe that children should be celebrated throughout the year, and not just during the holidays.
The evening’s host is stand-up comedian/writer/actor Yassir Lester who can be seen regularly at the Hollywood Improv and World-Famous Comedy Store and many other clubs nationwide and recently had a recurring role on the TV show Champions. The hit vocalist band Westside 6 will provide sophisticated acoustic music with rich vocal harmonies performing everything from jazz standards, to Motown, to Top 40. In addition, guests will be able to watch live painter ‘RO’ Ronnie Robles, the expressive fine artist, muralist, set designer, art therapist and accomplished illustrator create new masterpieces.
Your participation will ensure that our birthday programs for children battling homelessness will continue to have the necessary funding. A birthday party provides participants long-lasting memories of feeling special and the chance to just be a kid on their big day. At the birthday parties, children are treated to games, crafts, food, music and so much more. The day is all about building self-worth and showing each child that they are valued and deserve to be celebrated.
