2025 Día de los Muertos Celebration
The 6th Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration on Third Street Promenade
Downtown Santa Monica will host its 6th annual Día de los Muertos Celebration on Third Street Promenade, featuring live entertainment, large-scale art installations, a Latinx pop-up market, community altars, and family-friendly activities including kids’ arts and crafts, face painting, and games for all ages.
Public Art Exhibit
Los Angeles-based artist Ricardo Soltoreo will showcase larger-than-life paper mache sculptures throughout the Promenade. Visitors can expect to see catrinas up to 14 feet tall, alebrijes, and special pieces created exclusively for Santa Monica.
Live Performances
Performances will include Aztec Dancers of Santa Monica Folklórico Dance Company, Academia de Danza BFFM, Ballet Folklórico del Alma, Neiva Arts, Mariachi Arcoiris, Santa Monica Ballet Folklórico, and Grupo Folklórico La Rosa.
Kid and Pet-Friendly Activities
The celebration will feature free arts and crafts, free face painting, and other activities suitable for all ages.
Latinx Pop-Up Market
A market hosted by Molcajete Dominguero will showcase Latinx vendors and makers.
Community Altars
A colorful display of community altars will be on view throughout the day.
Attendees are encouraged to dress as a catrina or catrín for a chance to win the “Best Dressed” prize.
