PRO/CON @ The Pier

ProCon.org and Santa Monica Pier bring civil discourse back with PRO/CON debate series. PRO/CON is a non-partisan debate series designed to better inform public discourse on ballot measures and current issues. ProCon.org supplies experts from both sides of the issue and a neutral moderator to facilitate discussion and reinvigorate the art of critical thinking.
PRO/CON @ The Pier is free, open to the public and takes place at the West End of the Pier every Tuesday, from October 11 to November 1.

Tuesday, October 25: “Cost of Education – Is College Worth It?” Featuring PBS journalist Maureen Langan moderating the debate between Former President of the National Council for the Social Studies Michelle Herczog and UnCollege.com founder Dale Stephens.
Tuesday, November 1: “Marijuana – To Legalize or Not?” Featuring 7-time Emmy actor Alan Thicke moderating the debate between Director of State Policies for the Marijuana Policy Karen O’Keefe and CALM (Californians Against Legalizing Marijuana).
