Santa Monica welcomes Texas to the end of the Mother Road with the legendary 72 oz steak challenge bringing a bold slice of Lone Star spirit straight to the coast. With Santa Monica Fire Chief and Chief of Police in attendance, this free event carries a strong sense of occasion and community pride.
Expect a lively all-American celebration featuring local businesses and nonprofit organizations on site, along with community activations and plenty of spectacle as competitors take on one of Route 66’s most iconic food challenges.
