Santa Monica Pier pays tribute to the cultural tradition of Día de los Muertos – Day of the Dead– with a two-day public art installation taking place from October 31st through November 1st, 2026. The seventh annual La jetée de Santa Monica Día de los Muertos Célébration honore les personnes, les lieux et les idées qui sont importants pour les habitants de Santa Monica par le biais d'une programmation gratuite et familiale. Jetée de Santa Monica’Célébration du Día de los Muertos par la Commission européenne est un espace communautaire situé à l'intérieur du bâtiment du Merry Go-Round, qui invite les visiteurs de la jetée à contribuer à l'autel communautaire et à admirer les autels réalisés par l'artiste locale Sylvia Sanchez.

This Día de los Muertos, the Santa Monica Pier honors Pedro Infante, one of Mexico’s most beloved icons.

A legendary singer and actor of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, Infante became the working-class hero of the big screen, playing carpenters, pilots, and entertainers who felt like family to millions. Over a career cut short in 1957, he starred in more than 60 films, recorded over 350 songs, and earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

From the Walk of Fame to the end of Route 66, Pedro Infante’s legacy lives on across Los Angeles, and this Día de los Muertos, it finds a home on the Pier. Come remember his life, honor his legacy, and celebrate the music that still brings people together.
