Santa Monica Pier pays tribute to the cultural tradition of Día de los Muertos – Day of the Dead– with a two-day public art installation taking place from October 31st through November 1st, 2026. The seventh annual Santa Monica Pier's Día de los Muertos Feierlichkeiten ehrt Menschen, Orte und Ideen, die für die Bewohner Santa Monicas wichtig sind, durch kostenlose, familienfreundliche Programme. Santa Monica Pier’Día de los Muertos-Feier ist ein gemeinschaftsorientierter Raum im Merry Go-Round-Gebäude, der die Pier-Besucher dazu einlädt, einen Beitrag zum Gemeinschaftsaltar zu leisten und die von der lokalen Künstlerin Sylvia Sanchez angefertigten Altäre zu betrachten.

This Día de los Muertos, the Santa Monica Pier honors Pedro Infante, one of Mexico’s most beloved icons.

A legendary singer and actor of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, Infante became the working-class hero of the big screen, playing carpenters, pilots, and entertainers who felt like family to millions. Over a career cut short in 1957, he starred in more than 60 films, recorded over 350 songs, and earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

From the Walk of Fame to the end of Route 66, Pedro Infante’s legacy lives on across Los Angeles, and this Día de los Muertos, it finds a home on the Pier. Come remember his life, honor his legacy, and celebrate the music that still brings people together.
