In honor of Flag Day, Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier will light its iconic Pacific Wheel with a 90-foot-tall animated American flag and a series of dazzling patriotic icons. The custom-designed displays on the solar-powered Ferris wheel will feature red, white and blue colors, patterns and transitions visible along the Santa Monica coastline as the Pier joins communities nationwide in celebrating the adoption of the American flag.

Flag Day, observed annually on June 14, marks the adoption of the American Flag by the Second Continental Congress in 1777.
