It alternates between the women’s current shared reality in crowded European refugee centers and flashbacks detailing their past lives, blending modern experiences with cinematic flashbacks of Ukrainian historical figures who also faced agonizing choices in the face of invasion. It is a story of resilience and resistance, of courage and heartache, of loss and determination.
