SANTA MONICA TRAVEL & TOURISM BOARD MEMBERS REAPPOINTED BY CITY COUNCIL
Santa Monica, CA (September 14, 2026) – Santa Monica Travel & Tourism is pleased to announce that three incumbent members were reappointed to its Board of Directors, continuing their leadership and commitment to supporting Santa Monica’s tourism industry and strengthening the destination’s position as a premier coastal travel destination.
Their reappointment was made official on the evening of September 8, 2026 at a City Council meeting. The Board Members reappointed are: Tim Defuria (Member), Darlene Evans (Member) and Karen Ginsberg (Secretary).
“We are grateful for these dedicated leaders and their service to our organization in their roles on the Board of Directors,” said Misti Kerns, President/CEO of SMTT. “Their passion for the community and commitment to creating an exceptional traveler experience in Santa Monica is deeply appreciated. With a host of global events and cultural programming bringing new opportunity on the horizon, we look forward to the valuable work ahead.”

The board plays an important role in providing strategic guidance and leadership for SMTT. The reappointments ensure continued representation from the local community as the destination advances its efforts to attract visitors, support local business and promote the beachside city as a vibrant place that welcomes all.
