Thor Skyr Pop Up at Sugar Palm

Thor’s Skyr, the American-made skyr brand that uses traditional Icelandic methods and all-natural ingredients, will host an exclusive pop-up in collaboration with Viceroy Santa Monica (1819 Ocean Ave.), the recently renovated iconic beachside hotel located steps away from the water in the heart of Santa Monica. Thor’s Skyr and Viceroy Santa Monica will partner to pioneer the first-ever pop-up skyr bar in America on Saturday, April 22, from 8-11 a.m. on the outdoor patio of the hotel’s signature restaurant, Sugar Palm.

Skyr bars are common in Iceland, serving freshly blended smoothies and fruit-topped bowls with skyr as the base. The Thor’s Skyr pop-up brings the Icelandic staple to Los Angeles, offering complimentary smoothies and skyr bowls to guests looking to kick off their weekend healthily. A variety of fresh ingredients and toppings will be available to choose from, including prickly pear, ginger, almond butter, and more, sourced by Sugar Palm’s Executive Chef Jason Francisco. To honor Earth Day, the smoothies will be made using bicycle-powered blenders, which guests can try out for themselves. DJ Asha will play a set at the event.
