Join Milliner Leslie Robinson for this introductory hatmaking class. You will learn the fundamentals of blocking, shaping and trimming a wool felt hat. Returning students welcome – we’ll cover more advanced techniques.
Leslie Robinson has been crafty ever since she was a little girl, growing up in rural Illinois. She comes from a line of un-traditionally traditional creative types and has always been passionate about history and the arts. After graduating from University twenty years ago, she packed up a U-Haul and moved to Los Angeles. Inspired by the weather and the vibrant visual feast that is L.A., Santa Monica and Hollywood, she has continued to create under two guises: Hooray4lala (hooray4lala.blogspot.com) and Flapper Femme (flapperfemme.com).

Parking: Under $2 for the first 2.5 hours in Parking Structure 6 (1431 2nd Street between Broadway and Santa Monica). On weekends at the Civic Auditorium lot at 1855 Main St it’s $5 all day except during special events. Pier Deck: $10-15/day; Beach Lot 1N just north of the Pier $6-12/day.
