Beyond the Label: A Sustainable Fashion Show

Come join Sustainable Works at an eco-friendly fashion show! Learn to build a sustainable wardrobe with sustainable brands in-house. The evening will begin with a wine and cheese networking hour. Plus, bring a T-shirt, get a healthy Beyond the Label T-shirt! A recycling program that exchanges a gently worn T-shirt for a new T-shirt that is sustainably and ethically made with custom designed “nutrition label” printed on the front. Makeup and makeup artists will be supplied by Beauty Counter. Plus, The best SMC Fashion Design & Merchandising Style and Sustainability Contest designs (clothing and accessories produced from reused, discarded or damaged clothing & materials) will be on display. Registration to this event is required.
Sustainable Works is a non-profit environmental education organization and a project of Community Partners. Our mission is to foster a culture of sustainability in cities, colleges, and businesses. Our programs in Santa Monica are in partnership with the City of Santa Monica’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment. We work to outreach the goals and strategies of the Sustainable City Plan.
