SMTT Welcomes New International Representation Agencies

As many of you know, SMTT recently issued a Request for Proposals for representation agencies for the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand markets. We’re pleased to announce that we have signed contracts with London-based firm Hills Balfour to represent SMTT in the United Kingdom and Ireland and Sydney-based firm Klick Communications to represent SMTT in Australia and New Zealand.

Hills Balfour was formed in 1998 and now employs over 70 employees with expertise in travel trade, media relations, consumer marketing, social media and MICE. Some of Hills Balfour’s clients include Las Vegas, New York City, Queensland and Kenya.

Klick was formed in 2008 and has offices in Sydney, Honolulu and Santa Monica. Klick’s experience working with clients includes travel industry leaders such as Thai Airways, Tourism Queensland and Contiki and lifestyle brands such as Red Bull and Havaianas.

SMTT Travels to Brazil for Annual Sales Mission

SMTT was joined by Hotel Shangri-La and Shore Hotel for its annual sales mission to Brazil, March 13 – 17. The team conducted sales calls, trainings and client events in three cities (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre) and met with over 60 travel agencies and tour operators.

SMTT also partnered with Brazil’s top media influencer and personality, Joyce Pascowitch, to host a Santa Monica-themed event at Casa Glamurama, the headquarters of her media empire. The event was done in partnership with Teresa Perez, the founder of one of Brazil’s leading travel agencies, and American Airlines, to educate 50 of Joyce and Teresa’s most VIP consumers about Santa Monica. The event was covered by Glamurama’s social media channels and website, which receives three million unique visitors per month.
