Santa Monica, CA - A Universally Unknown e a bG Gallery têm o orgulho de apresentar uma exposição sem precedentes de arte de rua que explora a história do gênero, desde seu início humilde nas ruas até seu status de mercadoria altamente cobiçada no mundo da arte contemporânea. Com obras de alguns dos artistas de rua mais icônicos de todos os tempos, essa exposição levará os espectadores a uma jornada pela evolução cultural e artística desse gênero dinâmico e muitas vezes incompreendido.
Curated by Billy Gross, a long-time enthusiast and collector of street art, this exhibition brings together some of his favorite artists and historical figures in the world of street art. Gross says, “I have always been amazed, whether I am in London, NYC, Los Angeles, or any major city, by what I consider the truest form of art: graffiti, which is now seen as street art. So much culture goes into street art, and I wanted to show the history of the form and some of my favorite artists who have been instrumental in bringing it to the contemporary art world.”
The exhibition will showcase works by an impressive lineup of artists, including Banksy, Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Shepard Fairey, and many more. Viewers will have the opportunity to see how these artists have transformed the streets into their own canvas, using a variety of techniques and styles to express their unique visions.

The exhibition will be on view from April 15th to May 31st, 2023, at bG Gallery in Santa Monica, California. Admission is free and open to the public 12-5pm Tuesday-Saturday.
