The production is helmed by long-time ART director Arthur R. Autor! Author! teve sua estreia mundial no Santa Monica Playhouse em 1976 e ficou em cartaz por 4 anos e meio em sua primeira temporada. O Actors’ Repertory Theatre reprisou o show todos os anos desde então. 2017 marca o 41º aniversário da produção do show.
