Cancelled Checks and Balances: A Comedy

Three lonely people. Three disparate lives, woven together through chance? or design? How do we find our place, our position, our passion, in a city as vast as Los Angeles? Is our soulmate out there? Is our kindred spirit waiting for us around the next corner – at the bank? the bar? the beauty salon? Or will those little boxes remain unchecked for the rest of our lives.
Supported in part by a grant from the County of Los Angeles through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, the City of Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Arts Commission and Playhouse PALS, Cancelled Checks and Balances is a ShortBurst® Theatre Collaboration in which professional artists, tyro performers and members of the community at large have pooled their resources, their time, and their concerns, resulting in a sometimes tantalizing, sometimes terrifying look at our search for fulfillment and the desperate desire for completion that hovers at the edge of our awareness.
