\nWrite poetry and music that suits the setting in this collaborative songwriting workshop. Each participant will compose an anonymous text about the ocean, put it in a hat, then we\u2019ll set the poems to music and spoken-word pieces to be performed at the end of class. Things to bring: pencil, notebook, and perhaps an instrument you\u2019d like to play. This repeating event is open to all, no particular experience required!
\nAlex Wand est un musicien et compositeur de Los Angeles, laur\u00e9at d'un Grammy Award. Il se produit en solo et avec les groupes Desert Magic et The Partch Ensemble. Il collabore souvent avec des cin\u00e9astes, des danseurs et des codeurs pour cr\u00e9er des partitions qui font appel \u00e0 ses int\u00e9r\u00eats pour l'intonation juste, la sonification, la musique folklorique et l'art sonore. Originaire de D\u00e9troit, il a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9 du Michigan et a obtenu une ma\u00eetrise en composition musicale \u00e0 CalArts. Pour son projet de r\u00e9sidence Camera Obscura, il explore la sonification des informations cin\u00e9tiques des vagues de l'oc\u00e9an dans le cadre de son \u00e9tude plus large de la gamme des sons qui peuvent \u00eatre tir\u00e9s de l'environnement.
