Vineyard Touring Opera Company presents Giuseppe Verdi’s “Otello”

La Vineyard Touring Opera Co (VTO) présente Otello de Giuseppe Verdi, le 28 octobre et le 4 novembre.
Dans le cadre moderne de VTO, Otello est en proie à une profonde crise psychique. Il a passé toute sa vie d'adulte à se battre. Entravé en temps de paix par la pression d'un commandement à vie et par la suppression de ses propres besoins, Otello est un homme qui renforce son sentiment d'identité brisé en embrassant pleinement l'ego du commandant : un choix qui le conduit à sa propre destruction lorsque cette image est percée par le doute.
Otello is fully staged and performed with live orchestra.  Local singers including James Salazar and Steve Moritsugu (as Otello) and Dabney Ross-Jones and Gillian Watson (as Desdemona) deliver Shakespeare’s erotic story of love, shattered by perhaps the most villainous character in opera, Iago (Ken Simms and Carson Gilmore).   Verdi had been retired 16 years when he returned to write Otello, his final masterpiece.
Performances will include a pre-concert talk by L. C. Harnsberger, Vineyard Touring Opera’s Composer-in-Residence. After the performance, attendees are invited to stay and meet the performers.  Light refreshments will be available.
