Jim Holyoak: Nowhereworlds

bG Gallery presents an opening reception on Saturday, November 5th for  “NOWHEREWORLDS”, a journey with artist Jim Holyoak into territories that reside along the boundaries of the real and the phantasmagorical. In NOWHEREWORLDS, Holyoak documents the surreal imaginative landscape his travels inspired, exploring the limbo between fantasy, perception, dreams, memory, and imagination.
Jim Holyoak is a Montreal based artist/writer who specializes in drawing-installations. Holyoak received a BFA from the University of Victoria, an MFA from Concordia University, and studied as an apprentice to master ink-painter Shen Ling Xiang, in Yangshuo, China. From 2012-13 he was a Professor of Drawing at Sheridan College. He has attended artist-residencies in New York, Los Angeles, Banff, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, The Netherlands, India and throughout Norway.
