El Albright tiene el honor de presentar \u201cSave The Pier\u201d, una obra de teatro gratuita de una hora de duraci\u00f3n que narra la lucha popular de 1972 para detener la demolici\u00f3n del muelle de Santa M\u00f3nica.
\nEn 1973, el Ayuntamiento de Santa M\u00f3nica dio a conocer sus planes de construir una isla artificial de 35 acres para albergar un hotel resort en la bah\u00eda de Santa M\u00f3nica y, en consecuencia, demoler el querido muelle de Santa M\u00f3nica. Este mes, los d\u00edas 23, 24 y 25 de septiembre, los locales y visitantes podr\u00e1n revivir la lucha de 1973 para salvar el muelle con una representaci\u00f3n gratuita de una hora de duraci\u00f3n titulada \u201c\u00a1Salvad el muelle!\u201d en el extremo oeste del muelle.
\n\u201c\u00a1Salvad el muelle!\u201d cuenta la historia de dos grupos que trabajaron de forma independiente para movilizar a la comunidad de Santa M\u00f3nica con el fin de presentar una petici\u00f3n al ayuntamiento. Un grupo liderado por Jack Sikking, un genio pol\u00edtico que dej\u00f3 atr\u00e1s su vida en Hollywood al frente de The Troubadour para gestionar Al's Kitchen en el muelle, involucrando al personal del restaurante y a los clientes para que se unieran a la lucha. El otro grupo estaba liderado por Diana Cherman, directora del Comit\u00e9 Ciudadano del Muelle de Santa M\u00f3nica, que inici\u00f3 una petici\u00f3n y solicit\u00f3 personalmente firmas, entre las que se encontraban las de Paul Newman y Robert Redford mientras rodaban El golpe en el muelle.
