\nWrite poetry and music that suits the setting in this collaborative songwriting workshop. Each participant will compose an anonymous text about the ocean, put it in a hat, then we\u2019ll set the poems to music and spoken-word pieces to be performed at the end of class. Things to bring: pencil, notebook, and perhaps an instrument you\u2019d like to play. This repeating event is open to all, no particular experience required!
\nAlex Wand ist ein mit einem Grammy ausgezeichneter Musiker und Komponist, der in Los Angeles lebt. Er tritt als Solok\u00fcnstler und mit den Gruppen Desert Magic und The Partch Ensemble auf. Er arbeitet h\u00e4ufig mit Filmemachern, T\u00e4nzern und Programmierern zusammen, um Partituren zu schaffen, die seine Interessen an gerechter Intonation, Sonifikation, Volksmusik und Klangkunst ber\u00fccksichtigen. Er stammt aus Detroit, studierte an der University of Michigan und erhielt einen MFA in Musikkomposition von CalArts. Im Rahmen seines Camera Obscura-Aufenthalts erforscht er die Sonifizierung kinetischer Informationen von Meereswellen als Teil seiner umfassenderen Studie \u00fcber die Bandbreite von Kl\u00e4ngen, die aus der Umwelt gewonnen werden k\u00f6nnen.
