Museums

A repository of antique dollhouses, a local historical society, an international museum of art, an aquarium and a collection of Los Angeles heritage and decorative arts: there are a number of unique museums to discover in Santa Monica.

Santa Monica Museums

In 2010, Santa Monica will be adding two new museums to their cultural list of activities. The Santa Monica Historical Society Museum, scheduled to open in it's new location in October 2010, will be the first museum to display historical information on the art, culture and history of Santa Monica that has been carefully collected and preserved for years by the Santa Monica Historical Society.

The Museum of Flying, also scheduled to open later this year, will be located in the South side of the Santa Monica Airport directly adjacent to the DC-3 Aircraft Monument and park. The Museum will place heavy emphasis on Douglas Aircraft and the history of the Santa Monica Airport.
