The Night Sky Show: John Drescher Planetarium

Santa Monica Museum of Art "Puppet Show"

The exhibition brings together 28 contemporary artists who explore the imagery of puppets in sculpture, film, video, time-based media, animation and 2-D work. 5/23: Opening reception and children's workshop. Special events throughout the summer include A Puppet Show with artist Charlie White, 'Objects at Rest, Objects in Motion' (a walk-through on the history of puppetry), Yasunari Kawabata's haunting story 'One Arm", "Dante's Inferno" film with hand-drawn puppets, plus various shows featuring extraordinary avant-garde puppetry.
